Sweet Rose Cottage

Looking for an imersion in the world of horses? Come stay at our cottage and you can spend days watching the mustangs, learning about herd dynamics, taking a week long intensive, or simply a two hour introductory session. Horses can be seen from your windows and the patio. Come down and watch a training session, or lessons in connection.

Our cottage is sun filled and old fashioned in feeling. High ceilings of white beadboard, large windows in every room, wood floors and deep window sills make this jewel of a cotage a delightful old world experience. Bedroom has a queen sized bed with down comforter and 100% cotton linens. Bath is compact with shower, sink, washer and dryer.

Full kitchen with propane stove, fridge, double sinks, microwave and view of the marsh. Cottage is heated by a propane 'wood stove' cozy on those cool nights.  Day bed ( single)  and dining table in kitchen. Living room offers windows on three sides, pastoral views of marsh and horses and meadows, couch and chairs, a TV and video player.

Outside you have parking for two cars, free bikes to use, and a private brick patio surrounded by flowers and herbs.

Listen to the sound of frog song as you fall asleep, watch the deer graze under the old apple trees, look for herons flying home to the marsh at sunset. It's quiet, peaceful and surrounded by nature.

Spacious Yurt with Wood Stove

Love Horses but need an affordable option? 
Stay in our Yurt!

Our 16 foot yurt is fully equipped with a queen sized bed, flannel sheets, extra pillows, down comforters, wool rugs.

The camp kitchen has bottled water, an old fashioned double sink with a bucket underneath- be a good camper and water the bamboo for us! Single propane burner, wood stove to keep you cozy. We provide a few dishes and pots and pans for modest cooking and ask you do your dishes prior to leaving.

Dining in the yurt or down at the dock, or the Deer Harbor Inn Watch the moon rise over the marsh, listen to the songs of frogs while falling asleep.

Odorless composting toilet in outhouse, showers down at the marina, all the water you want at the red cottage nearby.

Bikes are provided for exploring the island. Farm fresh eggs available and sometimes veggies in season.

From the yurt you can watch the horses as well as the bird life in the marsh, you can come down to the arena and have a lesson, or spend a few weeks truly getting a 'horse fix'. This back to nature experience will nourish your soul.

Quiet walks right out the door, kayaking at the Deer Harbor Marina, Hike Turtleback just a few miles away, go whale watching, get a massage or Jin Shin Treatment for healing.
